各社から対応サーバーがリリースされていますが、
今回の Opteron は 2.3 GHz × 16 コアモデルで 10万円 を割るような戦略的な価格になっており、素晴らしいコストパフォーマンスになっています。VDI みたいな非常に高い並列処理性能とコストパフォーマンスを求められるケースに最適です。

そんな最新世代 Opeteron ですが、さすがに 1CPU あたり 16 コアというのは OS ベンダーも想定していなかったそうで、Windows Server や Hyper-V はパッチの適用が必要になるそうです。
